Worship Committee

Purpose: Worship – The people of God coming together to praise, thank, and profess God for all that God has done for us. Many people believe that worship is for them. “We left church today and received nothing from it.” When our goal should be to give something to God, after all it is a worship service for God. This committee is in charge of looking at worship and seeing how we as a congregation can better worship God.

Committee Oversights:

-Help plan special worship services in coordination with the pastor. Example: Easter, Christmas, Advent, Cantatas.

-In charge of communion. Setting it up, or coordinating with a person who is in charge of setting up communion.

-Make sure that acolytes and ushers know their duties. Keep and updated acolyte and usher list.

-Work with the youth leader in preparations for Youth Sunday’s.

-Oversight of all music ministries.

Questions for Committee to ask:

-How can we involve more people in the worship experience?

-Is the sound equipment working and what needs replaced?
