MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
The Burns Flat Chamber of Commerce wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and a great 2009! We look forward to celebrating Christmas in our small community where traditional values still have value and where we know most of our neighbors. We will be working on our 2009 chamber goals over the next few weeks and would be glad to talk to you about them. From all of us to all of you,
Merry Christmas!
LET'S GET THE RECYCLING BALL ROLLING

Here it is almost 2009 and Burns Flat America doesn’t have a recycling program. Somebody should do something about that! During the monthly meeting of the Burns Flat Chamber of Commerce meeting, the chamber voted to form a committee to investigate possibilities for recycling in our community. Committee members are Tom Collins, Brian Mooney, and Tom Sander. If you have ideas or want to help in this process, please contact one of these community leaders.
Two Students Recognized at Chamber Meeting.
Jade Pankratz and Kara Crotts were recognized by High School Principal McGown as the Student of the Month and Eagle of the Month. Both students are exceptional academic performers and are involved in sports and other extracurricular activities.

Alliance Shifts Focus to Christmas Baskets and Angel Tree Gifts!
The Burns Flat – Dill City Ministerial Alliance once again served the community by providing Thanksgiving baskets to needy families. In all, 56 baskets and turkeys were distributed for the Thanksgiving week. This has been a growing ministry for the past few years and is expected to be even more vital this year. This is not only a chance to help families that hunger this fall, but a chance to be a part of God’s love.
The alliance now shifts its focus to Christmas. Last year the alliance provided 70 families with food baskets at Christmas and 165 children received an Angel Gift with the Christmas basket.
This is great! I want to be a part of it. What can I do to help people in my own community? If you want to volunteer to help sort and box food or to set up a food drop off at your business, contact Tom Spence at (580) 515 2995. If you want to make a donation to the Alliance, you may mail a check or money order to Ministerial Alliance, Box 142, Burns Flat OK 73624 or call Dwight Shephard at (580) 515 4319 to arrange for cash donations.
Food baskets will be distributed from the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Burns Flat on December 23rd but this is truly a community effort. The other churches participating in the alliance are the First Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church of Dill City and the First Baptist Church and Living Waters, Assembly of God Church of Burns Flat.
In a time when almost everyone seems to be complaining about the economy and tough times, please take a moment to see how truly blessed we are in this country and especially in Western Oklahoma.
The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

What’s That Address?
The Chamber of Commerce voted to purchase address numbers for businesses along State Highway 44. The numbers will help with deliveries, directions, and add a more professional touch to our main street. Don’t make your new customer’s guess where you are located. Chamber members will be stopping by your business soon. If you are not a member of the Chamber of Commerce, this would be a great time to join. Numbers should be placed over the entrance door if possible.
